What's the best advice you could give to aspiring writers?

Live in your dreams . . . hang onto your past . . . and use the present to craft your sentences! That's my answer in one sentence. Bingo!

I've been very fortunate to have crossed paths with some truly interesting characters. Of course, being in law enforcement, in a prior life, certainly exposed me to the likes of rapists and murderers. But, what about working with the establishment? I noticed early on, attorneys and bored doctors wives seemed to aspire to political office. Boredom and money seemed to be a huge motivator. Then what about the influence of bad cops on the hopes and aspirations of the good ones? I know a lot of folks have considered the 'unbelievable' photos of a Chief 'caught in the act', that I worked with. But you know what? cover-ups, scandal and apathy are what it's all about in the good ol' United States.

Last but not least, take up classes, read, I've always devoured stuff from Kesey to Fitzgerald. But write on.

Well, as they say, Thats all Folks! Have a great weekend. I'm headed to the great state of Wisconsin.

Here comes the Judge!

Curt

We took a little road trip last week looking for things to add to the
house and took along the camera and of course your book.

The first photo OP was at a little place for lunch. We sit down place our
order and Shirley
goes outside for a smoke and I head for the HEAD. I left the book on the table and when I got back the guy at the next table had picked up the book and was reading it. I took his photo and told him he could read until I got done with my lunch read read about the first two chapter and ask where I he could get a copy or two because he was a retired Judge and he had a couple of law enforcement friends he would like to gift. The eatery was in Surprise, AZ

Mexico

I've been led to believe this photo was snapped in Mexico near Nogales. A soldier is reading away while riding a donkey. That takes talent! I was also informed that he thought it was a great read and his wife is currently tackling it. Gracias!

Comments directed to me by-way-of-email.

I have been busy with the house but I did find the time to finish the book
cover to cover.

You bastard you --- deleted --- and now there cannot be a sequel. You
go thru all the work to create characters then --- deleted --- them. The
hero and his wife. That is not justice.

Now I see the challenge has been raised! I'll have to write another tale! I've been pretty fortunate to have run with some great potential characters!

How much of this is TRUE?

This question was posed to me by a Readers Group. Truth is stranger than fiction and believe you me . . . this is one strange tale. JusThis, not for the faint of hearted! I was inspired with my involvement in Law Enforcement. Thanks goes out to all the officers I crossed paths with from a Chief who couldn't get enough of the Internet to his friend who could cover up oh so well.

Feedback!

Picked up great feedback from an officer of the law who has many years of experience.  He loved the read and thought the stories sprang up right from the street.

Stands Tall

During my reign as Captain there was one Chief who called it the way he saw it. I looked up to him. He was a black and white kinda guy, he's still married to a great lady and we remain friends. He enjoyed JusThis though the language was awful.  He didn't understand how I could write like that if I don't use the same language. My inspiration came from others in my life. The types who objectify women, are hypocrites and know no shame. They may dress up like honorable police officers but they come up sooo short.

Three Beers

Three beers-two teachers-one free man. Great to be back into the comfortable confines of the 'Infamous Rude Winery & Brew Pub.' Notice the different flavors of beer present? After some female wine drinkers showed up the California Red was broke out! The suitcase is attributed to a Wisconsinite who is hanging out before landing in La Crosse.

Deirdre Capone

Deirdre Capone, Als niece, wrote this book. She explains a different spin on events in the man's life. She details events leading up to the St Valentines Massacre and explains how and why the police did it. Great read whether you believe her or not.

29th Anniversery

'King Computer' and his wife swung by the Winery while celebrating their 29th Anniversary. Dylan the 'College Graduate' claimed we party like we're college kids - nice . . . huh? We actually fired up the Vinyl and let Thorogood have it.

Jefferson Memorial

Loved it, loved it, loved it . . . when you gonna write another one?

Thanks for the support and kind words. Higgins Books on Main ran out of books, will have more stocked today I hope. In hindsight . . . with what has happened since the story of JusThis was told has been rewarding. Steubenville Ohio to Saratoga California. JusThis tackles the realities of sexual assaults.

Winona

Busted . . . I received following message from a buddy from long, long time ago. I'd mentioned I was headed to Winona and discussed the memories of things we got into down there!

There are quite a few doozies that's for sure! In fact I'm having trouble reconciling you are a author giving presentations, I actually don't remember you going to school.
How long you going to be in town, maybe I should run down there.

The Judges are heard . . .

Judges Comments on 'The Passionate Jihadist' There are a lot of really engrossing, full details that drive the story along. The op...
