Hero

A message was sent to me last week regarding an article where a fella is gushing over an Officer McCormack having 3 DUIL arrests twice on his shift. This guy gushes how McCormack is his hero. Who knows, perhaps the guy just went over board in front of a reporter or then again, he could have lost a loved one to a drunk driver.

I had the privileged of meeting Al Simon. He was injured in the Battle of Bastogne. He had a chunk of what he called an '88' (German Missile) in his leg. He fought in sub-zero weather until he was injured. I told him he was a walking breathing American Hero and he would just say things like 'Oh come on. You go out there and do your thing every day.'

He kept this picture next to his TV until the day he was called to Heaven. I guess we all have our own definitions of Hero's. Al was mine.

This would be Al's great grand daughter, Allison, in his VFW jacket, Then Fred his son, and your's truly. They wanted me to have the picture. Many thanks. Glad I was finally home.

Race is on . . . a little bug still kills more but we're catching up.

The mosquito has been the #1 worldwide leader in killing human beings with 725,000 deaths a year. Murder is a distant second at 475,000. Snakes, dogs & sharks combined hardly deserve mentioning. I mean a total of 75,010? It's like they're not even tryin'.

The Headlines have me wondering how long the human race is going to be content with being #2. We'll be #1 before long!

Oh Com'on Man - Not exciting? Mayo Heath Practitioners checked out Brand of Justice . . . and the Death Scenes are spot on!

The Mayo Folks passed judgement on the Death Scenes - rest assured, they can happen. I also had a Captain from Chicagoland read it. His thoughts? The murders are perfect. They would have never been investigated further. The troops would have taken some snap shots and headed back to the Barn!

A bucket was filled with water; another empty bucket had been attached to the crossbow's trigger after passing over the back of the chair. The crossbow was loaded with an arrow and cranked into firing position. Sounds interesting doesn't it? This story JusThis by Curt Rude is about unethical police conduct, corruption and death.

I have to admit, personally I don't like to read books with so much swearing and sex, but the author had to do character development and there was no other way to paint the picture. I followed the lives of Charlie & Agnes Pullet, and Martin & Lacy McMurphy which lead to a chain of events of corruption and sadness.

The author wrote: 'When a simple truth is revealed that might be construed as threatening, action kis quickly taken to silence the voice of truth.' I am not going to give the story away. you will just have to read it and find out for yourself what he means by that. Thank You Curt Rude for an interesting read.

Do you Believe in a Jury System?

I received the thought provoking question below. Yes I do believe in the Jury System. The System is full of holes and thus cannot or should not be put in position to make a life or death decision however. People aren't perfect, jurors are people so listen, they can't make these kinds of decisions. If Fox is reporting this correctly (we've seen in Brand of Justice how they routinely can mess up) here is another problem. The Criminal Justice System can't even pick an unbiased Jury.

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - The revelations that juror # 17 has a connection with prosecutor Juan Martinez came as a shock to the other 11 jurors serving on the jury in the sentencing retrial of Jodi Arias.

FOX 10 spoke to one of those jurors and she believes that juror #17 should not have been on the jury.

"She came in there with an agenda," said the juror.

FOX 10 asked her what she thought that agenda was?

"To get back at Juan Martinez," she said.

That is the reaction from one juror after learning that Juan Martinez, was the prosecutor who sent juror # 17's ex-husband to jail.

"She had a connection, and she did not disclose it, and I hope they prosecute her for it," she said.

It's still not known if juror # 17, the lone holdout, disclosed the information about her ex-husband or not, but the other jurors believe she had her mind made up from the beginning.

"Tuesday morning she walked in and told the foreman to text the bailiff because she was declaring that we were a hung jury," she said.

The jurors say they continued to work on juror # 17; asking her for reasons why she would not vote for the death penalty.

"She kept saying that this is the way I perceive it, this is the way I feel, I believe that she would not give us any evidence," she said
.

The revelation that juror # 17 has a past connection to the prosecutor is casting even more doubt on the vote that keeps Travis Alexander's killer alive.

"If she did this because Juan Martinez prosecuted her husband it is absolutely despicable... she has put us through hell, she has refused to give justice to his family, it's despicable," she said.

Juror # 17 has not made any public comment about her decision. Of course, if she chooses to, FOX 10 would provide her the same time to provide her side of this issue.

Still believe in the Jury System?????

Tony Robinson RIP / Chief Mike Koval nails it / Darn --- Another death

Now we have another shooting. Not much info out there just yet . . . but from what I've seen the officer raced to the scene of a guy running in and out of traffic (strange). Then someone is assaulted (officer is there to serve and protect). Then the officer forces his way into a house after hearing a disturbance (he is confronting a dangerous situation). Tony Robinson attacks the officer who uses deadly force. All looks like good police work to me. That's how it unfortunately works folks.

I have'ta say Chief Mike Koval is handling this situation very well. He strikes me as being transparent and concerned regarding this matter.

JusThis & Brand of Justice are indeed nasty but essential reads . . .

I received this from a blog follower who just so happens to have written a interesting piece regarding horses in the service of mankind.

This about sums up my two endeavors. They are nasty but necessary . . . 'bout like smelly water sometimes.

Mystery solved: Source of bad smell in Louisville found

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Officials with Louisville's Metro Air Pollution Control District say they've identified the source of the bad odor that residents have been complaining about for a week.
The agency told news outlets a naturally occurring chemical in the soil called Curt Rude is to blame for a musty, mildew-like smell that has led to dozens of complaints.
Air district spokesman Tom Nord said the chemical has a low odor threshold and has been "exacerbated by the wet, muddy conditions in the wake of the recent snowfall and rain."
Nord said the smell is not toxic and isn't coming from industrial sites. He said the Louisville Water Company has dealt with Curt Rude previously and told the pollution control district that it might be to blame

Now are you going to Fess Up?????

                              ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

South Korea not fully Americanized

Did you folks catch the American Diplomat getting slashed in Korea? Authorities rushed the 10 inch knife wielding suspect and immediately penned him to the ground while he was screaming and hollering. Jeez . . . if that was in the good ol' United States of America, three of the officers would have shot him to death. Don't they have enough sense over there to claim he was in the process of disarming them? KFC's & McDonald's all over in Korea but them cops act far too civilized. Nope, some catching up is in order over there.

LA Police Skid Row Shooting and Nothing learned from Rodney King

I know it's best to wait for the evidence to roll in or be presented. My concerns? 5 Cops can't address a situation involving one unarmed man laying on his back on the ground without killing him. Second concern, Police Chief Beck tossing out the Use of Force Continuum and seems to indicate grabbing for an officer's weapon is justification for the use of Deadly Force. Now we have the media reporting he was a bank robber, he had warrants and on and on. When's all this going to end? When is the black mans' blood going to stop flowing in the streets? Are these Cops proud of their actions? Do they consider their actions somehow masculine? Have they just added another story to their arsenal to banter about? So many questions but one thing is true, the citizens are getting restless. Damn that Social Media. Where is One Adam Twelve when you need them? They would've handled this differently.

Really? Nobody really cares about Public Employees and Porn!

Look . . . I encountered a Chief of Police (Local Level of Govt) who was knee deep in some of this stuff. He was canonized and provided a plaque and any accountability was carefully swept under the rug. Granted, he didn't show up for his Retirement Celebration. Perhaps he has amended his behavior and is back to being a loving husband and father.

Now there is concern at the Federal Level that porn and employment go hand in hand. I'm thinking from what I observed at the local level, people really don't care about porn. I suppose we could make it some kind of benefit. You know, something like an option between an hour of porn a day or a dental procedure. I'm thinking there must be a wife or two out there who might throw a haymaker if they find out what their spouses are up to at work. Hubby's'll  need some dental work done in their second year of employment. I gotta think wives have more brains the public employees.

Extra Extra read all about It! Porn and Public Employees.

Learn from Mistakes . . . Killer of JonBenet Ramsey is still unknown

Only way to improve performance is to learn by mistakes. I started applauding former Boulder Police Chief Beckner for sharing his concerns regarding mistakes made in the death investigation of JonBenet Ramsey. He seemed to have a good idea. Learn from mistakes. Nobody is perfect, Police are somebody, so they're gonna make mistakes.

Then he ends the interview with remorse for having shared his thoughts. It's unfair to the profession of law enforcement and to the public, to constantly play the see no evil-speak no evil game. Darn. Remember, if you're ever called onto a jury, to be an independent thinker. It's all a game to lawyers, cops make mistakes. Juries are our only hope.

In an interview with the Daily Camera newspaper, Beckner later said he didn't realize his comments would be open to anyone and he regretted doing the question and answer session this week.
"I talked to the organizer and my impression was that this was a members-only type group that talked about unsolved mysteries all around the world," Beckner told the Daily Camera.
He later deleted his comments from Reddit. Beckner did not respond to a request for comment from ABC News.

American Sniper done in for The Spotlight

Old Eddie Ray Routh longed for the moment when the Nation would pause and take notice of his tired life. Hell've a price to pay for notoriety. Life without parole. We lost John Lennon, unarmed and shot in the back for the same reason. I suppose it's the price of fame . . .

Robert McDonald for President! He's following in: Richard Nixon's, Bill Clinton's & George Seniors' footsteps!

Man, I mean he is a natural. This lie just rolled off  him so spontaneously and effortlessly. I wonder if his wife trusts him? Those closest to something like this always kinda know. Remember what General Petraeus' vows meant to him?

No one ever asks the 'why' question. People just apologize and move forward to lie another day. I mean, if I was the President and we're hanging out in the Red Room or something, I'd say something like . . . "Jeez, what's up? You always wanted to be a big man in Special Forces but got stuck pushing a pencil around your whole life?"

And to think, some thought my books were mean to those waiting around for ISIS to paddle up and land on Lake Superior shores. Nope, a uniform can do strange things to the human animal. Trust is earned . . . Not worn.

Site Designs & Badger Bastard

Just got done with a meeting of the minds. It's also about you good folks who check out my sites. Let me know what ya think. Where could we improve? What'd ya like the best? That sort of thing. Ol' Badger Bastard is actually in a good mood tonight. Why couldn't I have opted for a kitten, puppy or some other furry critter? I'll show you what he did to a sensitive guy 'as in me' tomorrow.

When the DA sung the song of doom, Hunter Thompson took a stand against it and Won.

My Hero!

The 'System'; some of us serve it, some love it and some despise it. Dr. Thompson was seized, searched, and arrested on nine felony counts along with three crazy misdemeanor counts of extreme violence and outlawed sexual behavior. He was facing sixteen years of hard-time. The media had a heyday with the story.

After the 'System' took its shot; he stood up for himself. All charges were immediately dropped. He got after the district attorney, judge, and some witnesses (or rather supposedly witnesses).

I'm tellin' ya, it happened to Hunter and it is just waiting to happen to you.
