Madness, Reasoning and No turning Back

Jose' Rizel said it all when he uttered . . . "One only dies once, and if one does not die well, a good opportunity is lost and will not present itself again."  The only thing for certain is we are what are past experiences have made us. Live and learn as they say. You'll be better for it.

Man I am whipped but on a mission of understanding . . . Is you IS or Is you Ain't  my friend?  Where in the hell are you as all I get from you  are confusing emails. I guess since you have left the past behind and are living in the future that would not allow you to be with a real published historian. Patience, I plan therefore I am. Some places are not communication savvy for that I am certain.

Listen, Learn and be Empathetic

Question regarding a recent Post . . . I've been having breakfast with the Iranians

What the hell does this mean???????????????????

I listened between bites of naan and a yogurt drink. They have their New Year in the summer. Interesting but all folks have their own perspective on issues. One must always consider the source.

Just Made it to an Internet Cafe

I see it's the same old - same old in the land of the brave and free. The Police and the Policed are fighting it out. Oh well, I told you so! Good to be back.

John Cheever nailed It

This quote about sums it up for me. Making some sense over all the chaos with a couple of 'social fiction' stories.

Fiction is art and art is the triumph over chaos… to celebrate a world that lies spread out around us like a bewildering and stupendous dream.
American novelist John Cheever (born May 27, 1912) was not a good student in high school. His grades were extremely poor, but he channeled the negative experience into writing. The result, a short story called Expelled, was published when Cheever was 18.

My Cop Trainers

Ended my give and take trainers this morning. Great ideas and concepts tackled. I hope our time together makes a difference.

Sample of Questions . . .
  1. We can drive and text because we are trained. You are trained? Where did you receive the training? Are you certified? Well no but . . . Well no not but. You are of the law and not above it my friend.
  2. Your books tell it the way it is but do you think people need to know? I wouldn't have written them if I had any doubts. My books counter all the BS on TV that put undue burdens on cops. the good ones and the bad ones.
  3. Are you for us (Cops) or against us? I'm for good honest decent cops who realize they are not perfect and go to work to do their best.
  4. How come you think you know it all? Because I couple 30+ years with top notch training.
I finished up with my own question. Just think . . . today the worst cop in the world is putting on a uniform and reporting for duty. Do you want to be that cop?

Pedal Pub, off-duty cops and the Long Arm of the Law

So some are havin' fun and now they face felonies. Whatever happened to having a sense of humor? You know what? tossing water ballons is funny, not a felony. Screw the off-duty cops who got wet. Oh, and the . . . 'I got shot in the face with a water gun and was blinded.' Yeah right, I was born at night but not last night. Shame on Pedal Pub for forgetting how to laugh.

Officer Micheal Brelo Dodges a Bullet

Thirteen officers fired at the car after a 22-mile high-speed chase that involved 62 marked and unmarked cars and reached 100 mph. Brelo was the only officer charged; prosecutors said he waited until the pair was no longer a threat to fire his final shots.

Gosh, Officer Brelo gives up cover, jumps up on the hood of a car and pumps 15 rounds into Russell and Malissa Williams. I mean this guy fired his weapon 49 times my friends. The Judge isn't comfortable with which officers did the actual killing. Can you imagine? . . . a defense strategy built on the fact that a whole bunch of bullets from a whole bunch of officers did the killing. Now what? In the next gangland killing, if a large number of "Bloods" pump a ton of lead into a rival gang-banger and one of them jumps on the hood of a car to do more shooting does he walk?

Whole lot of lead flyin' into a whole lot of flesh and there ain't a whole lotta common sense in the vicinity.

So the moral of the story must be  . . . make sure your car is not prone to back-firing and if you see red lights pull over already.

Destination Rochester

Will be in Rochester. Looking forward to the Meet & Greet then I suppose it's up towards the Twin Cities. What no surgeon in attendance last night?

So the President is in favor of Community Based Policing. The Chief in Austin Minnesota is going to make his military vehicle more 'friendly looking' by painting it. Pink perhaps? Who knows. Anyways, this round goes to the President.

Check this out . . . On Monday, President Barack Obama ended long-running federal transfers of some of the combat-style gear to local law enforcement in an attempt to ease tensions between police and minority communities, saying equipment made for the battlefield should not be a tool of American criminal justice.

David Letterman - Who's going to be his last guest?

Had to laugh at this question. Spent the weekend with Cops and such then this is tossed in my face. I'm all about being ahead of the equation, so here goes. Drum Roll please . . . his last guest is going to be . . . The Heart Surgeon who saved his life!

Landed on the 16th floor to assume views after The Scholastic Book Fair. Any guesses where I'm at today my friends?

Very Touching Review and Many Thanks Barbara

Well now . . .  many thanks to the Critic Sections for bringing it to my attention that this Review had not formatted to standards.
By Barbara on May 9, 2015
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Can I just open with saying I haven't read the book yet, but
not for lack of not wanting too. But when I first met Curt and
he and I talked, tragedy hadn't struck my life and I haven't
had the focus to read it yet. But I'm so honored that I met Curt,
I can't wait till my life is back in a place of wholeness so I can
read the book and give my honest review. Curt offered to send
me a copy of his first book, but again, I had a tragedy in my life
and turned away from the cyberworld for a while. So Curt if you
happen to read this review, Remember ME, Barbara, The girl that
wants to give you a Rude Awakening, lol. I hope by summer's
end I will be able to sit down, relax, and open Brand Of Justice!
Good reviews on it so far!!!

Mathew Golsteyn From Hero to Villain?

Perhaps there is a book hiding in the story. John Prine called it right when he said we live in a big goofy world.

The Second Amendment & Death and Mayhem in America.

Seeing is believing . . . Countries without the Second Amendment's "Right of People to keep and bear Arms . . ." are much safer places for all concerned. Whether it's second graders in classrooms or two officer's laid to rest today in Hattiesburg, the price paid for an increasingly paranoid society to arm itself should be measured in ounces of blood spilled.

Oh, don't tell me the founding fathers had it right, all of the time . . . they denied women the right to vote and enslaved black Americans. Private enterprise must fund the NRA Cause and our Politicians. If there wasn't so much money to be had in funerals, medical expenses, media coverage, grief counseling, bullets & guns perhaps then we could stem the flow of blood in our Country. The land of the free, brave and so many dead is an embarrassment. Ingaborg, a lady in Wurzburg Germany asked why we allow gun nonsense. I said it's all about the Americans love affair with cold cash, no matter how many cold dead children we have to step over to hop in out new car.
