Terrorists?

You the dog. What do you think needs to be done with the Terrorists?
Reply

We have got to truly understand them. I mean we have to understand what motivates individuals to resort to such self-destructive behavior. Period. Then we can address preventative measures.

Authors Corner

Got to hang with authors John Haymond and Jeffery Ollman. John wrote the Infamous Dakota War Trials of 1862 and Jeff wrote Trust Me Now. Beer, fries and then it was time to review some writing.

Thoughts involving a Comment from Yesterday

Get REAL, or at least make sense!

I don't suppose this is Troy Aikman. is it? I mean EA Sports, it's in the game! Anyway, the whole idea behind my writing and this blog is the truth, nothing but the truth so help me God. There ya go. My first story regarded police and sexual assault. Then it happened. My second story, Brand of Justice, regards false arrest, wrongful prosecution and unjust incarceration. You plugged into the media? Happens all the time. This blog covers the realities of issues and thus is all too REAL!

Gotta Love Micheal Bennett's Resolve

Wow, this man said he wants to be like Muhammed Ali, he wants to be a voice for the voiceless. He wants to experience the plight of the Palestinian. This is what he said this weekend . . . "There is no partial commitment to Justice. You are either in or you're out. Well I'm in." Many thanks Mr Bennett! You are an inspiration.

Women, Clothing and Common Sense?

Okay . . . I get it, we must be non-judgmental. Live and let live. So here goes, on the top we have a gal in them skin tight tights in a Walmart. The two gals in blue are covered from head to foot in a burka. They live in lands of the blazing hot sun. I'm fully aware the tights would be condemned in Muslim countries as shameless. But wouldn't it make sense to wear them things in temperatures above a hundred degrees? Perhaps the burka thing would work in lands with extremely cold temps. You know . . . Siberia, Alaska. Is this mixed up or is it just me?

Seeker of The Truth

You must die Curt for your beliefs.
Well said. Spotted you on twitter.
Okay here goes . . . I recieved the you must die comment followed up with the Well said . . . Man it's right there, if we shed our fear and preconceived notions and understand it for what it is. Thanks for the comment. I appreciate the interest.

Hey, if I wanted to die I could run around Joshua Tree for that matter! Many thanks to the Palm Springs Reader for this photo.

The Chiefs or Broncos and Trump calling out The Media.

Really . . .  the Mercury News does a story and doesn't check which team Aquib is on? It's the Broncos, not the Chiefs by the way. Media members are human, and to error is human. Perhaps this explains some of  the Presidents' angst over the media and how they cover him.

Marquette King cannot help but play around, even when it comes to his teammates.
The Raiders punter posed with Chiefs cornerback Aqib Talib at the Pro Bowl in a send-up to Talib pulling the gold chain off Raiders wide receiver Michael Crabtree mid-game.
Since that incident upset Crabtree — and many Raiders fans — it was a bit surprising to see King participate in such a re-enactment.

One Well Thought Out comment

Enough said?

I'm not sure why you are confused Mike. The topic or question in the post is who really is fighting for a cure for cancer? Democrats or Republicans? At least 250 children under 15 years old died this past year from cancer. They couldn't vote, they couldn't go to the senior prom. See, this is not about Obama or Trump. You made it about guns. Which I guess is also the frustration of my post. Not guns but the division. Just like I stated in the post-Arguing about everything but the cancer. I'm glad you fought through cancer 5 times and beat it Mike. I really am more than you know. I am thankful for your 34 years as a 1st responder and I am sorry you had to pick up Law Enforcement friends who died or were wounded. Mike, my great uncle died at Pearl Harbor on his first mission, I lost an uncle in Vietnam. That doesn't matter when the topic is cancer. I'm not raising up arms because of your opinion. You kinda asked for that in your last sentence of your reply. So you are conservative? OK so where do you stand or or how is your party helping cancer not guns.. That is my point and I can't believe someone who has survived cancer 5 times turns this into a conversation about guns. Wow really? I might have the same opinions as you when it comes to guns or politics. MIKE you beat this cancer five times right? Tell us how. Genetics testing is huge. My wife Marcie has the BRCA2 gene. 14 people in her family have died from the cancer caused by this gene. We found our oldest son carries the cancer gene as well just 2 days ago. You are right Mike - Testing. Because I don't carry a gun doesn't mean I don't have a lot of guns. Mike my wife is not the only one dying from cancer. Your statement how bad it was when it attacked you, well, remember that feeling because millions have that. I sympathize brother and I want you to stay healthy. 628 people have seen the post yet none have guided me towards support for the search for a cure in politics.

Great Comment here from a Firefighter

Firefighter cancer is a looming personal catastrophe for each and every fire
fighter. Cancer is the most dangerous and unrecognized threat to the health and
safety of our nation’s firefighters.
Multiple studies, including the soon-to-be-released NIOSH cancer study, have
repeatedly demonstrated credible evidence and biologic creditability for statisti
cally higher rates of multiple types of cancers in firefighters compared to the
general American population including:

Testicular cancer (2.02 times greater risk)

Multiple myeloma (1.53 times greater risk)

Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (1.51 times greater risk)

Skin cancer (1.39 times greater risk)

Prostate cancer (1.28 times greater risk)

Malignant melanoma (1.31 times great risk)

Brain cancer (1.31 times greater risk)

Colon cancer (1.21 times great risk)

Leukemia (1.14 times greater risk)

Breast cancer in women (preliminary study results from the San Francisco Fire
Department)
We are just beginning to understand the horrific magnitude of the problem,
the depth of our naiveté, the challenges involved and the changes required in
education, training, operations, medical screenings and personal accountability
to effectively address cancer in the fire service.

See cancer kills just like bullets. We need to do something about each of them.

Trump - Muslims & The Big Picture

He got a guy killed in Yemen and Iran is closing the door to Americans and the Muslims are worked up all over the world and you voted for trump?????

Now lets not jump to conclusions here. Where did I ever mention my voting preference? It's a violent world out there and I can't blame the lose of a Navy Seal on Trump. I mean really . . . how could it be construed that Trump killed a service man. Now correct me if I'm wrong . . . weren't the Muslims worked up before Trump landed in office? Finally, Iran has been less than hospitable to Americans and Western culture in general. So they're closing their borders. Some wrestlers are upset but really. We'll survive this border closing.

Here's a thought for y'all. We voted a businessman into The White Office. After having politicians and lawyers running the show for what seems forever . . . isn't it about time? Perhaps good will come out of this.

Muslims vs The World

Do you think the Muslims are winning?

Man . . . I think we are all losing bigtime. Just this week a Canadian Shooting and a U.S Seal killed in action, not to mention a dead 8 year old.

Trump?

Pro Trump Curt?

During the campaign Trump was criticized for his comment about not accepting the outcome of the election if he lost. Now I get the feeling these very people who found this statement so unacceptable are now referring to Trump as not legitimate. I mean what's good for the goose is good for the gander - right? I find it refreshing that a political candidate is doing what he said he was going to do in the election. I mean agree with him or not, ya gotta appreciate that.

Perhaps 3 months to strengthen a vetting system isn't too much to ask. Is it?

Blue Buffalo? Really?

Okay so the commercial pans over all kinds of select foods, salmon and cuts of beef and a lady says "My dog is a part of our family so we feed him like one." Now wait a minute here, I checked and Blue buffalo is $52 bucks vs about $20 for 'normal' run of the mill food. Can't this family save $32 bucks and donate it to a worthy cause? Say something that helps out abused animals. We've all seen the commercials depicting sad dog eyes. Or why don't the makers of Blue Buffalo market their product to do-gooders who would love to purchase the different flavors, including duck and lamb, to feed the hungry (humans) in this world. Man a nation that feeds its dogs gourmet meals has an obscene streak in it I tell ya.

Time for The World Community to tackle Cancer

As a war like nation, the U.S. is always declaring war on drugs, terrorism, Iraq and-and-and. Gotta agree with this writer yesterday from comments. The world needs to hold hands and get after the positives in life as in health issues.

Cancer is a major killer for sure. So where does the true problem lay? Is the problem with the government who spends billions on war (bombs), with the pharmaceutical companies, or with regulations. It is atrocious that we live in a country where hard working young people have mortgaged their future on their education only to graduate and be unable to get jobs that can offer reasonable insurance. I know that this is sort of rumbly, sorry. Cancer sucks it affects all of us. It should be a priority for not only our government, but those around the world too. Peace out

Medicine not Bombs!

This is a response from yesterday's post.

Well I am confused over the last post. Cancer sure is a big worry, but there are some of us that will fight to the finish to stop cancer in their lives.

I was a 1st responder for more than 34 years and I was exposed to all kind of bad shit and brother it has caused me many deep, dark times when it is something that is attacking me.

There is a reason it is called one of the silent killers of the human population.

I am very happy to report that I have been able to face the devil 5 times and walked away to fight another day.

Regular screening and awareness helps, but it does not take away the fear from within that the next time will be your last fight.

I kind of think of the days I worked hand in hand with Law Enforcement on a daily basis and yes I picked up some of my friends after there were killed or wounded for doing their duty. Guns do not killed people it is people killing people that needs to be changed.

Guns do not make any ones life better, just ask any vet or cop if the guns they used on a daily basis help the world become better. Guns are a defensive thing and not a positive influence on our core existence.

So I tell one and all fight cancer and help save your fellow human beings.

I hope this does not cause anyone to raise up in arms for me telling them to face the truth.

I appreciate your response bigtime to yesterdays post. I believe the comment yesterday is a matter of perspective. For example, U.S. citizens were hammered with an estimated 1.7 million cases of cancer for the year just ended. Yes 1.7! How many died in Afghanistan? 14. Which should concern you more? Under 3000 died in the Twin Towers tragedy. So why are we so war like and pound our Nations budget with defense spending when our medical situation is an absolute mess. Taken as a whole, Terrorism is losing - Cancer is gaining - one precious life at a time. Medicine not Bombs!
