So am I an influencer? No. I'm an author who makes the most outta this thing called life. I travel (Ran around Germany, Austria, Italy and Spain. Now I'm hoping to meet up with a Ukrainian Official Saturday. Then plans are in place to hit Norway and Brussels later on. So no. I'm not into 'influencing' at all, but, just put thoughts out there and respect others and their thoughts. Good question.
Ethel Rohan, author of ‘Out of Dublin’ on Curt Rude's writing. "Overall, great writing style. Reminds me of Rushdie: internal, emotionally complicated, and dualistic. Delivered with a sensitivity and awareness that is underrated. In one word his work is Awesome!"

Losing My Touch?
I'm usually good for 1 outta 5 comments being dumped as too offensive for the community. I call it the way I see it however. Suddenly I'm not getting spanked. Whatever.

Here's One outta left Field
We explore the human mind on this site. That's it in a nutshell. So riddle me this Batman. Why do some like taking their shirts off at football games? Then you have the face painting business. In Buffalo folks were jumping off trucks smashing tables. What does this mean?

Desensitized to The Second Amendment
Pregnant girl shot while her brother is murdered, before the shooter kills himself. At one time this would have been bigtime media fodder. This all occurred in smalltown America, Barron Wisconsin. We are all potential targets, as our elected leaders prepare to fight over the budget. So sad.

Brand of Justice
To think . . . there are some in Montana who have voiced an opinion that I must be stomped out for giving a child killer a voice. I have done so in an effort to discover what would compel a person to commit such an act. It's where my voice finds its footing. Another example would be found in discussing what it was like to flee a school that was under fire. I listen during these encounters. This was my first novel and one, where you can see, I pursue the truth.
JusThis
Lord Acton, a British historian
of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries shared his thoughts about
power. He had deep feelings about power and its ability to corrupt. The
proverb, “Absolute power corrupts absolutely” means that whenever a person has
power over other people or things, it makes him/her corrupt. This testament,
for obvious reasons pertains to some police officers. A badge—symbolizing power—is
pinned to their chest and they waddle into society for better or worse. Officer
Francesco Vincent Serpico exposed corruption back in the day. Now, retired Officer
Curt Rude, does the same when he focuses on sexual misdeeds of those who serve
and protect.
The police profession has its
share of individuals who had neither the inclination or ability to fulfill
their desires before becoming police officers. Some were perhaps meek and mild;
the last to be chosen for a team on the playground. After years of perceived
humiliation and frustration they realize formal power can deliver them into an
intitled life. They eagerly settle into a job that involves having others
answer to them. It can be an exhilarating experience that leads to excess and
trouble.
Though
some have readily stated this work is an interesting read, but not plausible,
one only needs to consider the deeds of Minnesota State Trooper Robert Leroy
Nelson. While on duty, he offered eighteen-year-old
Michelle Busha a ride after witnessing her being dropped off by a vehicle
along Interstate 90. Busha was raped, beaten, tortured and
strangled with a ligature. Her fingernails were
removed while she was still alive and her head had been shaved, except for an
area on the back of the head, which was left about an inch long.
It is hoped that an increase in knowledge, regarding issues
some may find disturbing, results in a safer world for all.

American Greed
At least most NFL games are played in the States. Can't believe how adapt the NFL is at monetarizing anything it's involved with. Tax payer supported stadiums stand empty as NFL owners hit for Europe to sell their brand. Clothing is being dumped on folks from Ireland as they head to the game. Now we have waves of newly designed articles of clothing to contend with to get fans to buy-buy-buy. A NFL cap goes for 50 bucks while any old cap at a store sells for 8 to 15 bucks. Big question here is when is enough money enough for the Owners? What are your thoughts on Greed? Is money the root of all evil? Is it okay for folks to be ripped off as they head to the games, dressed up like god knows what, to support their teams? It's all silly fun after all. We need a diversion from the daily shootings. When is a NFL Stadium going to be rocked with violence? Think I'll get busy on my next novel. I'm not in the mood to get loaded up with lead. Be safe out there.

So When Did It Get So Bad?
Spoke to a lady today from Kenya. She considered herself so fortunate to be a citizen of this country with all its advantages. Why can't those born into America appreciate and respect it?

Yahoo Rejects Another Comment
Your comment on "Hamas: Israel will not receive another hostage after IDF invasion of Gaza City" violates the community guidelines and has been rejected
Here is the comment in its entirety . . . "By making this empty threat, Hamas legitimizes the actions of Israel. Hard to not see Hamas for what they are. Uncivilized cowards." I stand by this comment unless someone can point out where I am wrong. Always ready to respect other view points, and to live and learn. Have a great weekend folks and keep your head down if you hear shots.
Charley Kirk said What?
Allow me to quote Charley Kirk. "It's worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every year, so we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights . . . This is a prudent deal. It is rational." So do we construe from this comment that he valued The Second Amendment over the rights of children praying in church to live a good life? How about my right to swing by a Walmart to pick up a box of Cheerios unarmed. I may be put in the position of having to die so others can run around fondling guns. Why don't these Second Amendment Defenders also step up and defend the First Amendment?
Consider me offended by those who would have me shot to death, so some can run around with guns.

Say What
So where are the constitutional zealots who are running around defending guns because it's their right? They demand the privileges bestowed by ancient forefathers at the great cost of civility. Anyone who can rationalize having guns after Sandy Hook, all them years ago, are not rational. Period. Back to the first question. How can they be content? Didn't they notice the First Amendment is under attack. What gives? Jimmy Kimmel gets hung out to dry, yet, there are tomorrows mass killers waiting their turn to shock a formally honorable country. What do you think? One thing is for sure, we are all losing. Death lurks.

Installment #8 from 'The People Shooter'
No money, just a story told, regarding gun violence. We got off track there. What does the Kirk killing have in common with this story? Who am I to tell this nasty tail? I studied in the FBI Behavior Unit and then pursued killers. It's what I did for a living and now I share my stories. Click on covers to the right and prepare to become enlightened. Leave comments. Lets continue to learn together.
After so much
hollering and the gun shot ringing in his ears silence reined. The entire
evening was too much. Guns had once been fun, but now they were scary. He knew
one thing for sure: Once a trigger is pulled, there is no going back. Not like
on a computer game. Real life didn’t come with a reset button.
He fixed his gaze
on the mountains.
As the squad
slowed for a red light, both of its occupants were lost in their own thoughts
and not talking. McShuster’s mom waited until noon before her first barley pop.
She liked to point out her house was clean as if it meant she could drink all
she wanted. Then she’d remind him there was always tomato soup in the cupboard
before she disappeared out the door. She always said food would mess up a good
drunk and then laugh. A boyfriend who ended up in the house was usually
introduced to him if he wasn’t sleeping, so before long McShuster made sure he
appeared sound asleep. He didn’t want to risk it. He had gotten elbowed in the
face once when things heated up and it scared him. If his mother was an angel,
she was a drunken one for sure. His mom liked to say heaven was nothin’ but a
bar serving free drinks all the time.
“I’m sorry.” Tears
flowed but McShuster couldn’t wipe them away so he had to tolerate them. “It’s
a good deal that you love Megan. She a nice girl in that there school. You
treated me good … even if you’re a cop.”
McShuster pressed
the side of his face against the window and just wanted to fly away like a prairie
falcon. Fast and sure. He had watched them plenty on the Front Range. He’d soar
above the mess he was in.
McShuster
carefully exhaled and leaned forward. “Sometimes folks have enough bad days they
turn into bad lives. I hate being alone, even around people. I need’da friend,
you know, who can laugh at my messed-up jokes, not at me. I want to look at my
mom and see somebody else. Officer Tracy, you hearing me? I want to go places where
dyin’ don’t offer no relief. The worst of it is I always feel like I just can’t
figure it out. How to make the good things happen. My money, in the bank, is my
escape.” He shrugged his shoulders. “That’s why I gotta work. I’ll do what I
have’ta do for you, officer. I tried though. Please. Can ya know that? I really
did—try.”
“Okay … I don’t
know now. Are you suicidal? Is that what you mean now?”
“First time you
didn’t use your ten-four cop lingo.” He smiled despite the pain or because of
it. “You could’ve liked me in another time. Who knows? I’m glad Megan didn’t go
and get hurt none. She could’ve. You wanna know sumtin? Seed got me to
understanding algebra. Seed going to teach. You know that?” The light changed but
Officer Tracy forgot to go on the green. She was frozen in place behind the
wheel. Then the phone rang.
“Yes, this is
Officer Tracy … Hang on, I’m going to put you on speaker phone. Yes, go ahead.”
She started for the station once the light turned green again.
“Tracy, listen up.
That Godamn kid we nabbed ain’t our shooter.”
“Ahh … okay. I
don’t—” Officer Tracy froze.
“Tracy. Our
shooter is in the E.R. Noah whatever. They got into it and the gun went off.
That’s when we nabbed the kid you’re with. He stopped everything from going
down.”
“He didn’t shoot?—”

When is Enough-Enough?
It'll have to start with serious discussions and then change is in order. Our government is in place to keep us safe. They have failed. Time to hit the brakes on thinking it'll never happen to us. Charlie Kirk may have supported guns, but, didn't want to die one would think. He had children, a wife and his health. He stood for guns, until one gun laid him low. We have to learn what these acts are showing us. America is the land of the brave after all. We have to be brave enough to say gun violence has to stop now and take the appropriate actions.
I have pleaded for this change clear back to Sandy Hook. Change is what it is all about. We all know this can't continue.

Seeing It
So the world moved on from the Minneapolis Children who were shot out of pews. Now we have a young lady stabbed to death in Charlotte for nothing. I mean no motive. We all think of America the Beautiful and and and . . . Lady who lived in the building, the shooter called home, said it right. "When 'he' was around it just got dark."
My books focus on the Monsters among us. I studied this mindset at the FBI National Academy and then pursued mindsets that never added up. Like Lou Reed sang . . . I'm just sick of it. And we are.

New Bigtime Low
So an eleven year old can't play ditch with out being shot to death. Defense attorney claims constitution protects his gun wielding client. How can anyone be so crass? Must be tough to wake up with another life to live after shooting a kid in the back.

Buford Pusser
Just think, I wrote JusThis and some readers had concerns that it claimed things that could never be true. Police Officers lyin'? Well, anyways, checkout Buford and see if anything claimed here is just a little bit disturbing. Like I said, my books are all about the truth and nothing but the truth.

Understanding
I have to admit to being confounded at times by arguments and different viewpoints as opposed to mine. I mean, having your life threatened, certainly lends credence to this argument. So as they say, lets live and let live.

From The Road
Headed to Chicago shortly. Just got back from Germany. Don't suppose you'll have a guess on what the Germans wanted answered. 'Three gals in their first year of studies wanted to know why nothing gets done with gun violence. Had to tell them it's because everybody thinks its something gonna happen to somebody else. If folks had to confront the fact they could die then something gets done.

Installment #7 from the 'People Shooter'
And the story continues as death and carnage roll across the lands.
McShuster’s head
felt like it was under water, like it was floating away from him. He suddenly
got dizzy and wanted to puke. “Offizzer Lazy, you seed that lady? Seed not
good. I got no grillfriend to laugh whiff? Alone all-time ‘cause you don’t wears
Patagonzia? To waltz in thirsty below wind chill? The rich have car and stop
for ya. They hitz it, when your frozen fingauzes reach for the dough?” Blood
trickled from his nose.
“You on something
back there?” She studied his face. He looked like he was falling asleep.
Fentanyl? She didn’t know.
Now what? Hospital?
Going to be busy there tonight. How in the hell could she take him to the
hospital? That would just get him killed. His victims must have already started
arriving and their families would be showing up.
“I’m good.” He
pulled himself up. “Thanks for loosenin’ up the cuffs. They were killin’ me. I
never knew them things hurt so much.”
“I can turn this
recorder off if your done talking,” Officer Tracy said.
“You know, they
always let on they know my ma drinks too much or sleeps around. That gets old.
I don’t like thinking about it all the time. In school I think about it because
they give me the business.” McShuster was relieved to be away from the school.
“I mean, I can’t even walk down the hall without a girl rolling her eyes or hoofing
it around me. Ain’t official bullying, I suppose, but it still ain’t right in
my book.” His voice cracked. “How I stop my ma from doing stuff?”
“I’m still
recording. I read you your rights and you are free to remain silent. Is your
mother the reason for tonight?”
“Well, I don’t for
sure know why I did it tonight. I mean, I get it. School hurts everyone
sometimes. Guess just maybe sometimes even if you’re hurting you got to do
something. That’s why I did it. I mean, I wasn’t sure so I went to Mister Jerry
Timm’s. He the one where the gun was. They in a safe but everyone knows the
com.”
“Okay, for the
record now. You were teased and it hurt so you went to a Timm’s house. You knew
the combination to the safe. Is that right?”
“Yes. I think you
know most of it, right? Can I get a phone call now?”
“Are you calling a lawyer? I can stop this
tape any time you want.”
“I need to call
work because Dosh is a good boss. He owns Shorty’s by the old train depot. I
gotta call so someone can cover tonight. I don’t think I’m going in tonight. My
side’s killing me.”
“I am sorry but
the last thing you need to worry about is going to work.”
“Look I am trying
to do it right. I get hammered by a bunch of cops and feel like they broke my
back. I get tossed in a squad car and so why do I have to also get fired now?
Answer me that, Officer Dickless Tracey?” He immediately wished he hadn’t said
it; the anger had overtaken him; but he knew he should have never said it.
“Look, I’ve been
plenty good to you. My Megan—my daughter—was at that damn
basketball game tonight. If she had gotten hurt, I’d made damn sure your back
was broken. You wouldn’t be walking, let alone flipping burgers!” She too immediately
regretted saying it.
