This ain't no Middle-class America!

Well now . . . Aspen was high but expected. About twenty minutes down 82 you land in Woody Creek. They have a Tavern and Post Office, but the crown jewel has to be $300,000 Trailer Houses! But ohhh the view I was told. "We gotta keep 'em high to eradicate the rift-raft." I told them it was working, I was done in.

In the hunt for Hunter Thompson

Been wandering around his old haunts. From Woody Creek to who knows where? Been cold, really cold in Colorado. Almost got run over by a herd of Elk today. My feet are frozen, but, I shall not stop until something is unearthed.

We'll Alrighty then . . .

Been to Long Island and now it's time for some sunny desert fun. Keep tossing thoughts and concerns my way. I promise to answer 'em to the best of my abilities. Let it be said we done learned together.

Oh, back in Minnesota there is a storm-ah-brewing. In the interest of justice the players have to be aware of just how they're going to play the game. Haste makes waste I suppose. And let us remember we are dealing with human beings here. I'd like to also mention we should look at the big-picture here. If the system can be improved then it is a win-win. Many thanks to the insight offered up by Dispatch. I too, am shocked.

One thing before I scream to infinity and beyond. Just because the media reports it don't make it so. You usually have youngsters fresh out of Mass Media classes who are spoon fed tidbits of info that have been . . . dealt with by spin doctors (Mayors and City Attorneys).

This was taken out of the book JusThis with the authors permission . . . 'Meanwhile, Normal’s mayor had taken full advantage of the national exposure, going on the various news media to tell the world that Charles Pullet had been the best police chief the town had ever known. The governor attended his funeral and the press had a field day, calling Charles Pullet a true American hero. Townspeople were shown on television crying at his loss and saying how much everyone loved him.'

But hey, the readers of JusThis knew all along that wasn't the case! Just want to alert you before they dish out the story in the media.

Be Safe Out There!

Turning Backs on de Blasio?! Trouble Brewing in the Heartland!?

As if having two officers killed isn't bad enough. Then, New York's finest turn their backs on their Mayor because he warned his son to be careful around cops. I was in law enforcement for many moons and I warned my kids about proper behavior around cops. Hey, it's why I wrote Brand of Justice. Those ol' cops were paid to be in attendance to perform crowd control. Their unprofessional and immature behavior was clearly Dereliction of Duty-they can't do what they're paid to do with their butts facing the crowd. Good thing most cops are professional.

I've landed in a hornets nest. Seems like locally, one officer was naughty. Really naughty. The paying public have been kept in the dark of course. I was told it's bad. Really bad. The officer quickly resigned and hit for greener pastures in Rochester. But still no word is offered to the paying public. 'It's like . . . just keep giving us your tax dollars and we'll take care of your women and children. Well at least your children.'

One of the good ones. A great cop stopped by for a chat and wanted help understanding this mess and why he/she feels like the department's hallways are slick with human scum. I was like . . . 'yeah . . . I hear yeah'.

He/She said. "I thought we hired officers to protect our women from this stuff. The place is already reeling from the Brownsdale Deal! This on top of that might make us all look bad."

I asked "Jeez . . . how is the nincompoop handling this? I mean he can do something. We had the first Chief, a.k.a. The Computer Love Machine. The Mayor somehow made that look good. He can do something about this."

"The women wanted it with the Chief. It's different now Curt."

I stood corrected. "We'll alrighty then. The current leader of the pack can do something."

"Oh . . . that's just it. He's more worried about Arron Rodgers and that 'Pack'. His hands are full with the X-Mas Party. Guess he's struggling with what kind of Party Sub to dump on the troops."

I'm like, "well perhaps he's under stress or something and hiding from the problems. I mean. This is what I call a first rate morale problem and this clown might be asked to leave the circus he's leading. He has already dealt with this guy on something, right? Perhaps he'll get it right this go round."

"Well that was the garage deal but we all thought he screwed it up. We turned him in but look at what happened. That's what he does. Make things worse. Im'ma tellin' ya Curt, this is bad and he'll screw up and make it worse."

I tried to comfort the poor officer. "We'll, if it's as bad as ya say it is, he won't be-able to screw it up any worse. He'll duck behind Trish down at City Hall. That's what he always does, is runs for cover. He keeps it up, hell, he's going to be in really good cardiovascular shape for a guy his age cheering on The Pack. No wait. It is going to be a Patriots 'Hawks Superbowl this year. Oh well. The Computer Love Machine is headed to town for the X-mas Party. Perhaps he can councel the good ol' boys!

"A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit."

JusThis and a Visit from a Cop

Okay. I was hoping it wasn't going to be as bad as it's shaping up to be. On the other hand it doesn't look like they're gonna be able to duck this issue under the ol' Data Practice deal. Nope. They're gonna have to admit it! Who got splashed with tears though? The Mayor lets his buddy (The old Chief) skate after he was getting all jacked up on the internet. His smut mucking ways hurt a fine lady. The Mayor then appoints his friend (current Chief) to fill a role he had neither the training or ability to fill. Where was the leadership when things started going south?

Now women got stomped by those who swore to serve and protect them. What about that bunch on the Police Civil service Commission? They done got splashed with tears. Who else? Probably everyone who refused to demand good behavior out of their police officers. Oh, lets not forget those silly Council folks. I think it was Jeff Austin done went and said something like . . . "boy oh boy when he answered that budget question I fell in love." God help me I ain't a making this up. Hoo boy!

I can already hear 'em howling like jackals. But hey . . . at least it wasn't your daughter. I on the other hand tried, to do something. I know it was just writing Justice but dammit. At least I tried.

Criminal Sexual Conduct / Police Officer Resigns / JusThis

I penned JusThis about a sexually gussied up, self-styled Internet Don Juan, who happened to be a police chief. One police officer said I hit it right on the mark. "That is about as real as it gets." Ed pulled me aside and told me he read it and knew who all the players were. He said I hit it right on the mark because I was a cop, and a damn good one, for too long. A minister was concerned that people do not need to know the stuff in JusThis. He claimed they need to believe in those who are serving and protecting them.

I disagree of course. Stinking your head in the sand is never a good thing. So anyways, a Lieutenant on the force in my own backyard resigned yesterday. He had a lot of good things about him. But he leaves women in his wake who are broken hearted, disillusioned and distrustful of police officers. Hey, I guess two of them are married to lawmen! Sad but true. I do not want to name names. No need to add to any embarrassment. Anyways, the City Attorney is very adapt at the 'cover up' game. It will be more difficult if the women do not play along and demand accountability in terms of criminal charges. I suppose the County Attorney could pull the wool over a Grand Juries eyes and make the bad thing go away. They covered up for their past Chief and will do it again. What that Chief did, to a wonderful woman did not matter one iota. Nope 'Statute of Limitations'. I already know how the press release will read.

So just in case you're wondering. JusThis happens everyday but many prefer the see no evil hear no evil deal. If you're not one of 'em read JusThis. It's in the library. Barns and Noble can get it or it is on all the internet sites. Amazon. Istore. Nook.

I thought JusThis was an important story that needed to be told. I have daughters after all.

Henry Rayhons-Angela Brown as told in 'Brand of Justice'

By many accounts, Henry and Donna Rayhons were deeply in love. Both their families embraced their marriage. The case has produced no evidence thus far that the couple’s love faded, that Donna failed to recognize her husband or that she asked that he not touch her, said Rayhons’ son Dale Rayhons, a paramedic and the family’s unofficial spokesman.

Based on evidence generated so far, state prosecutors are likely to portray Rayhons as a sex-hungry man who took advantage of a sweet, confused woman who didn’t know what month it was, forgot how to eat a hamburger and lost track of her room.

So technically the Iowa Attorney General wants is persecuting Henry for Felony Rape and perhaps put him away on a minimal sentence requirement. I guess one has to be living with ones spouse to have sex with them.

After years of watching her son suffer with the symptoms of a traumatic brain injury, Angela Brown turned to medical marijuana as a last resort. It worked, but the decision has left her facing criminal charges.
Minnesota this year became the 22nd state to approve specific forms of marijuana for medicinal use, but prosecutors in Lac qui Parle County don't want people getting a head start. When the law goes into effect in July 2015, it's likely that Brown's 15-year-old son would qualify to access the cannabis oil he was already taking; however, the mother from Madison, Minn., is now facing two gross misdemeanor charges, including child endangerment. Each charge carries a penalty of one year imprisonment and a $3,000 fine.

The County Attorney in Madison Minnesota isn't commenting regarding the felony charges he dumped on this loving mother. I would like to ask him how many knock out pills are required to be choked down so the little County Attorney can sleep at night. This is from 'Brand of Justice'  “You see . . . I’m only here tonight cause I’m righting wrongs. That’s a notion new to you I expect. You a big time lawyer. If you were even half as good as you think you are we wouldn’t be here tonight. You see, you’re the lawyer. Oh excuse me, I mean pro-see-cute-her. So you don’t ask the right questions, you don’t do nothing but get innocent folks found guilty is all. So whaa-laa, heeeere’s” Tinkey screamed “JOHNNY” causing Toppan to scream and her dogs to bay loudly.

What? John Crawford+Tamir Rice+Charles Eimers+Eric Garner not to mention the brutal treatment of Angela Brown.

Take a quick peek at the last couple of posts. Death and Mayhem in the Brutal State of America. Our 'Serve and Protect' System fully endorses no accountability thus realizing no benefits of true reform.

Indulge me while I play the Devils Advocate-Or-should I call it Police Officer Advocate?!?

John Crawford gunned down in a WalMart. (We thought he was armed. So we cornered him and gunned him down. Hey, we don't carry these weapons to look good ya know. He could have been dangerous to the public ya know. Better to act than react.)
Tamir Rice (He was reported to have a gun, so we didn't figure we needed cover. We just pulled up next to him and got to blow a twelve year old off the swing set while getting out of the squad. Hey, he was pointing a gun at people upsetting them. We didn't know it was a toy, so there! We got to shoot first and ask questions later. Hey, we're doing a tough job and want to go home at the end of our shift. We're heroes after all.)
Charles Eimers (Oh, by golly, he lost his temper when we pulled him over for reckless driving, then got in a high speed pursuit. He was speeding and endangering the public. Then the silly man jumped out of his car and had a heart attack. So senseless.) What about them darn video cameras? (Them people using them to tape us should be charged with Obstructing Justice! Dag-gone-it! I mean, we're involved in life and death situations and so what if he ended up with ten broken ribs. We tried to spar the family anguish by getting an illegal autopsy done. He probably broke them himself and bleed out the ears to make us look bad.Yeah, and guess what Mister? a Grand Jury found us innocent so we are free to brag about how 'he dropped like a f-ing bomb on his head.' Besides he was arrested back in the 90's ya know so that shows you he was a trouble maker.)
Angela Brown I've already ranted long enough. Let's hammer away on this issue tomorrow.

If you were wondering . . . I know I served this system as an officer . . . but dammit, I never pulled these stunts and am ashamed of the paranoid, brutal actions of a few that make 'em all suspect. You can't even get out of a car with your hands up any longer without wondering if you're going to be beaten to death.

For now, if ya get stopped, pray, pray really hard that someone is around you with a video camera. Best way I suppose to avoid the heavy handed approach to the national epidemic of police violence.

Police Officers vs Charles Eimers - Hands Up Don't Shoot - He dies Anyways

I mean . . . what can I say? 61 year old probably loses temper, takes off, jumps outta the car and is beaten to death. Yesterday we seen how the system takes care of itself. Let me plug in an arrest scenario from Brand of Justice. I've also included a link to the whole Charles Eimers incident. I get the feeling he was law abiding and did something stupid and paid for it with his life. Ten broken ribs! Anyways, the system (Grand Jury) failed to better the Law Enforcement Community. No Indictment.

Ready Set Click!

This from Brand of Justice . . . Dub was practically on top of him before the young cop spotted him. Ma was hoping Dub could talk some sense into the young whipper-snapper and get her butt outta the car. Then her morning got even stranger. The young fella went to fumbling and pulling on his pistol before finally pointing it at Dub. He was also hollering.
“DOWN on the ground—hands up . . . DOWN on the ground . . . DOWN—DOWN . . . NOW!” Dub looked at the kid officer, with an expression conveying the fact he’d never had a gun pointed at him before. He wasn’t sure if his hands went up first or if he should sprawl out on the ground then stick them out. He froze up on the dilemma. He never was much for questions and certainly wasn’t going to start asking them with a Glock pointed at him. The confusion was suddenly cleared up. He was tackled from behind by the detectives from the house.
“Hands up, asshole . . . now . . . hands up. Keep that gun on him.” Then he felt punches or kicks. “Quit resisting, scrot. Now, hands behind your back. You hear me, scumbag . . . hands up noooow!” Dub was hearing it all. He just wasn’t sure how to do anything with his hands due to the fact they were pinned under him. He wanted to say something but the words couldn’t be gurgled out under the weight of the two detectives crushing in on his back. The punches hurt. Then the prying started and before he knew it one of the detectives had painfully pried his arms out from underneath him.
“Okay, asshole, you just added a resist to the charges . . . do I make myself clear? Resisting, buddy boy!” Dub was hauled to his feet after being cuffed. Then it came to him, the young cop was Dylan Klebold, the same feller who stopped Tinkey out on 220 for the brake light. He had no idea why that little piece of useless information popped into his head, but it had.
“Okay big guy . . . your ma already went and told us that you hauled off and whacked her good. Didja feel good doing that asshole. Huh?” Dub was thinking some on whether his shoulder or wrists hurt worse. The handcuffs had been clamped down plenty tight and his fingers were tingly.
“C-c-c-can. C-c-c-can. My hands. C-c-c-c.”
“Look, you always talk like ya got a load of manure in your mouth? Or are you a stutter box? Haul off and hit a woman. If you’d do as you were told . . . you little piece of shit . . . just maybe I’d loosen ‘em . . . if’n that’s what your whining ‘bout. If it was up to me I’d tighten ‘em some is all Im’ma gonna say. You hear me boy?”

It ain't just about Eric Garner. It's about how the game of justice is played.

Well lets see here. We've been peeking into issues regarding Prosecutor Misconduct long before Eric Garner was choked out and the Prosecutor got to playing games. Take a sec to read a piece from my story JusThis. Those who scored the book know.

Corruption is and always has been imbedded into the fabric of governmental systems. When a simple truth is revealed that might be construed as threatening, action is quickly taken to silence the voice of truth. The status quo must be maintained. Words are used to confuse and impede. The reins of power are held tightly in the hands of a few privileged individuals. As the old saying goes, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. We are required to confront our daily decisions with pride and determination, and we must see our mistakes as life’s opportunities for learning. It is ignorance that binds evil to goodness.

As a former Cop I do not feel right about Tamir Rice!

When the going gets paranoid the paranoid become cops. I mean, really. Shot off a swing? Lawmen are taught the Use of Force Continuum. What happened with 'show me your hands'? What about taking a position of cover? Caliber Press anyone? I can already hear it from the other-side. How the cops have a tough job blah-blah-blah. I was a cop for too long to not know the difference between good police work and not so good police work.

Advice to keep Ya safe from the Nebraska State Patrol!

Okay. Here goes. So lets say your in Colorado. Recreational Marijuana is like legal in the Mile High State - right. Your trip ends but wait. You have some of the expensive stuff left over. What'd ya do? Well let me tell you what not to do. Do not leave the state with it, period. I was motoring eastbound on I-80 near the I-76 interchange and presto ran smack dab into Nebraska's finest, complete with a team of drug sniffing hounds. They had signs posted and appeared hellbent on gettin' it done. Them mutts were sniffing up a storm around all the cars driving into the checkpoint! Man,shivers ran up my spine thinking of folks getting hauled in for possible felony charges. Funny isn't it  .  .  . felony on one side of the border and fun and games on the other.

Talk to your ski loving kids. Get the message out before a badge is lumbering up to their car or 'vehicle' as the lawmen call 'em.

A gift idea here, the story 'Brand of Justice'. It can help your kids out. It can result in discussions about liberty and injustice, oh sorry, I meant justice for all.

Merry Xmas.

Garner Protests in New York and beyond.

Nationwide! People being arrested? You are getting it done. You are being heard. Things will get better. Keep it up. I wrote the stories below before Brown and Garner we killed.! It was just an effort to peek at this situation before death, fires and passion swept the US of A!

Unidentified Austin Officer on Paid Administrative Leave

Now, Now! People from Austin follow this blog? Thanks for the questions. Anyways. Here's the deal. Now none of us know just what is going on or who is involved so lets just plug away in this fashion. You could substitute a sergeant or whatever. So here goes. The current Chief is horribly inexperienced with this kind of issue, so lets assume he flees to the City Attorney with fear in his eyes and loathing for having been dumped in this mess. He wants to know what to do. A horrible allegation has been raised regarding sexual misdeeds and lets assume the City will demand a demotion. What would I do if I was the Lieutenant? I would point towards disparate treatment. I would demand to be treated in a like and similar fashion, from the same community, who swept the sexual misconduct of its ex-Chief under the rug so swiftly. This past investigation is in fact on file or at least it better be! As the old saying goes . . . what is good for the goose is good for the gander. A precedent has been established. Oh by the way, Colorado is warm. I could get used to this place.

Another Challenge for Ferguson Area based on Senseless Violence

So a Bosnian Immigrant gets into some kind of confrontation with three young men. Two are black and one is a Hispanic. The three boys beat Zemir with hammers. Man, talk about an argument for the Second Amendment. Some in the Bosnian Community blocked traffic expressing frustration over what they've termed a hate crime. I have heard of no neighborhoods being torched nor liquor stores looted so far. That's the good news. Zemir lost his life. New's can't get any worse than that.

Hits close to home. He hailed out of Waterloo Iowa, a place I've spent a lot of time in lately.

Brutal - Ferguson Missouri - Lessons

So the Police are Militarized? Then demonstrators validate the tactic by rioting and looting? Community Based Policing is still going to win out. It is what the feds are calling for.

Power Corrupts and Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely. We have been discussing the fact that technology is the answer to better policing. Now the feds are going to roll out body cameras! Finally!

'Hands Up Don't Shoot' is a tactic all should use when confronted for whatever reason by officers. Makes a cops job easier.

Police Officers . . . NFL Players . . . Celebrities . . . Al Sharpton are all sharing thoughts. However true racism seems to surface when a person is protected by anonymity. What kind of lingering monster is out there? Racism is alive and well I'm thinking. Google away and see what ya find. Here is one comment I discovered. Read at your own risk my friends . . . sammydavis

LOLthat dumb fat N1GG3R desereved to get shot. F.U.C.King APES!

Lets keep learning. It's our only hope.

From the Goodreads Site regarding 'Brand of Justice'

's review
Mar 25, 14

This book blew me away (no pun intended)!! It was so different from anything I've ever read before, and the last 1/3 of it kept me on the edge of my seat, unable to put it down, until I finished it!! Winning this book from Goodreads has had no bearing on my review whatsoever.

It's a small world after all . . .

All work and no play doesn't get it done. After tearing around Denver I hit for the Prost Micro Brewery. I soon discovered the bartender, Sierrah, was from Winnebago, Minnesota. Small world, not only that, she knew Jenna, from back in the days of good old Austin.

Badgers play the Gophers today. If ya wondering Doug, take the Badges. Forget about the points. Longest running standing rivalry in SFS College Ball. Paul Bunyon's Axe ain't gonna be allowed on the post game field after last years brawl. Love this stuff. The Gophers ain't gonna be in the top 25 rankings after today. Badgers gnaw on Gophers after all.

The place is set up like a German Bavarian Garden. Only  German Brews. In the shadow of Mile High just off of I-29.

Goodbye to a Creative Genius aka Robin Williams

Had to swing by Mork and Mindy's. I was in New York City paying tribute to John Lennon when Robin suddenly left us. He know languishes in our memories and belongs to the ages. Saying goodbye never gets easy, does it?

Sharpton or Gandhi for Ferguson?

On 081714 I explained Browns death on this blog. I pointed out Officer Wilson would not and should not be indicted. So last night comes as no surprise. I do not understand why burning ones neighborhood down helps. Folks in bad straights in the Middle East, so what do they do? Rape, murder and destroy. Does it help? Where is Gandhi when ya need him?

Is there hope?
