Must Reads for Me

I've always been drawn toward stories that have a foot in the door of reality. Having been a cop for years and years has resulted in an inability to read the likes of Sanford. Here are some books that are spot on.

A Rumor of War explains the ramifications of war on the participant.

White Rage points out problems with blacks and whites in America.

A Thousand Splendid Suns points out the ramifications of violence.

Song Remains the Same

So George W. went to Yale. Has he been known as a scholar? Now we have surprised folks tossing out 500 billion dollar lawsuits leaving me to wonder why.

Jussie Smollett

This guy allegedly falsely reports 'a' crime and is hammered with '16' felony charges. The math is off here. Common Sense once again is trampled by amoral lawyers. Makes my skin crawl. Should you care? We all live under this threat.

Oh that Robert Kraft

One difference between me and Mr Kraft is I can donate to the American Red Cross.

Montana Meet and Greet

Here's a topic of conversation . . . Empathy vs Accountability.

Muthana's lawyer said she was "just a stupid, naive, young dumb woman," when she became enamored of Islamic State, believing it was an organization that protected Muslims.

Democrat, Republican or Whatever, ya gotta admit, Trump could've got it Right!

Lookin' more and more like Jussie Smollett put together a fake news story. He was attacked by fellas wearing MAGA caps because he was black or gay, or perhaps, a little of each. News Organizations ran wild with the story and it could've been a piece of staged 'Fake News' all along.

The questions begs to be asked . . . Why do something like this? Is this guy running low on the ego deal? Does he need to be the center of attention? True example of Sympathy for The Devil if this actually is the case.

Another Violent End for Maintaining Peaceful Intentions

The assassination stunned the country, and tens of thousands of mourners attended Ko Ni's funeral. Ko Ni, a Muslim in the predominantly Buddhist country, had written several books on democracy and had just returned from a Jakarta visit to study interfaith peace in Indonesia. A legal adviser for the country's ruling National League for Democracy, he routinely condemned state violence against the minority Rohingya population, which human rights investigators have since said could constitute a genocide.

Edgar Allan Poe's Thoughts on The Taliban

The Taliban has this to say . . .

Durrani said if US troops leave, "we might repeat history where women will be beaten, shot in the heads, and their noses cut. Where women will be treated as second class citizens, just because they are women."

Taliban promises moderate stance

A senior Taliban member, speaking to Al Jazeera anonymously, said the group would strike a moderate tone on women's education and their right to work.
"It won't be the same for women like it used to be during our regime in Afghanistan. They will have access to education and will have their rights," he said.

Another Cost of War

The most recent Congressional Budget Office study estimated in 2014 that the cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan cost $1.6 trillion from 2001 to 2014. But several studies say the largest parts of the U.S. bill have yet to be paid, including for veterans care, replacing military hardware and interest on the debts incurred.

This bill is being paid for by a country without: Universal Health Care, Under Paid Teachers, Weak Social Security System and a Drug Epidemic.

Superbowl Kiss for a . . . Trophy?

Look, I never won a Superbowl so I'm not gettin' the kissing deal. Isn't that a good way to pick up a communicable disease? I suppose the Patriots at the end of the line figured the trophy tasted like spit. After seeing that on TV I checked out last years Superbowl and yep, the winners were kissin' the old Trophy like nobodies business. Where's the Surgeon General when ya need him?

A Shot At Nationalism

Compare this act of Bravery to the post just before it.

Malala Yousafzai was just 15 when Taliban gunmen shot her in the head for speaking out in favor of education for girls. The young Pakistani woman and staunch activist for women and refugees survived the attack and won the2014 Nobel Peace Prize.

Difference of Opinion

Muse Abdikadir Muse, 20, was arrested by law enforcement officers during security screening at the Gerald R. Ford Airport in Grand Rapids, Michigan, after checking in for the first of a series of flights to Mogadishu, Somalia. His 23-year-old brother, Mohamud Abdikadir Muse, and their 26-year-old brother-in-law, Mohamed Salat Haji, were arrested in the airport terminal soon after, according to a criminal complaint filed in the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan.
All three men are naturalized U.S. citizens who were born in Kenya and currently reside in Lansing, Michigan.

Three Americans were hellbent and determined to fight for ISIS. If they couldn't pull it off then I guess it was martydom time in the good ol' United States. Wow. Isn't it something how ISIS brings out this level of commitment in folks?

Religion and Pedophilic Behavior

Imam Hafiz Azizur Rehman Pirzada was sentenced to eight years in prison and the following comments were posted.

Quran 17:20: "Women are for breeding, children are for pleasure". (I found the passage to actually read as follows.) To these and to those—to all We extend the bounty of your Lord, and the bounty of your Lord is not confined.

Everyone screams about catholic pervert priests but no one says a word about pervert imams. (I googled Imam and arrest. Rest assured plenty was being report on.)

This is very common imam behaviour going back centuries in Islam. About time this usual practice was brought into the light. Pearly boys, indeed.
Actually not unlike the acceptance of the Vatican for this type of abuse on boys. (I leave this for your judgement.)

Gotta say religion tends to bring the best and worst out in folks. I wrote about Bacha bazi boys after being tipped-off by a man who had served his country in Afghanistan. I did a Google Search to address concerns expressed by the above comments. I get the feeling a person must be very vigilante went considering topics that are highly charged to say the least.

Black Hebrew Israelite's to face Expulsion?

Nick Sandmann calls it the way I saw it yesterday. Man . . . what about the Black Hebrew Israelite's? Is their Church going to Expel them? You know the old saying . . . What's good for the Goose is good for the Gander. I mean Covington was going to immediately Expel their students until the nasty truth said peek-a-boo.
