Quote of The Day

The most truly generous persons are those who give silently without hope of praise or reward.

Oh C'mon man, I'm learning.

I realize I have not exactly been a right to own and carry advocate. Then along comes an armed citizen in Goodyear, Arizona. He askes a trooper if he needs help and then proceeds to shoot and kill the troopers attacker. Man, if ever there is an argument for guns in America. . . this is it.

Answers as Promised from recent Comments on This Blog

Weaker sex is a poor choice of words in my estimation. How about a person of lesser stature? Other than that I find your post very interesting.
Okay, so we agree. Good point. 'Weaker sex' is no doubt cliche, but oh come on man, ''lesser stature'? We both best just call 'em girls, gals, senioritas, women, ladies etc!

We are all Americans. I hate hearing titles like Afro-Americans, Latino-Americans, Jewish-Americans, and even Native-Americans. Drop the first part of these labels. Just say I am an American PERIOD. When this titles are used they divide who we are FIRST AND FOREMOST,

It is past the time to stop singling out groups of people that divide the population into small groups as it helps cause people to fight each other.

Americans First and respect those that fight for our freedoms and protect us everyday. Vets, First Responders, Police, Firefighters of all race & colors need our respect, thanks for doing a job while putting their live on the line for all people and believe me their lives matter too.
Amen, I agree . It's like now a big time issue that some individuals in Chicago got charged with a 'hate crime' because they assaulted a fella and mentioned not liking him or something. Is that necessary? Can't we just call an assault an assault and move forward? Nope I guess not. Now we got to make a special crime for special groups. What'd ya think?

Curt, do you live in Austin Texas???? If so we would love to have you at one of our book club meetings.
Nope, I do not live in the lone star state. I do globe trot some. Message me contact info and I'll notify you when I land in Texas the next time. I love discussing my stories with interested folks.

One Brave Hombre

Received this message yesterday. Love the brave stance. This man is not afraid to be heard. He signed this comment. Also I must say, the comment is rather thought provoking wouldn't you say? Tomorrow I'll jump on some of your questions. Comments on this blog get first priority, Be happy-Today could be your last.

AMERICA  IMPRISONs  The  MOST  PEOPLE  Of  ANY  COUNTRY !  !

Isn't It About Time?

Recieved this from a thoughtful reader. Agreed but it'll never happen.

I think it is time for sanity to take hold in this country of ours. All lives matter, no matter what! We need not point finger, there is plenty of finger pointing already. We need to get back to the basics of compassion, respect and love. We are one nation, we are being divided from within. We need to come together, somehow. It has been a very sad week for our country. Too many sad weeks lately...unfortunately.

Thorough Search

Man talk about a thorough search. . .

She was arrested, transported to jail, denied having any contraband and tested a 0.17 breathalyzer test.
She was searched by a jailer, who found 11.4 grams of cocaine hidden in her vagina and $823 in her bra.
She’s next due in court on Jan. 12.

Oh Those Pesky Videos

So I'm asked what I think of the 15 year old gal getting body slammed by a police officer in North Carolina. I Google it, right . . . and there are tons of girls getting body slammed. Nothing new here. I'm thinking cops should read my stories, or at least peek at this blog on occasion. Getting body slammed isn't as bad as getting shot. Whatever happened to males taking pride in not assaulting the weaker sex?

Oh no worries here, , . the officer will get a day or two off before being enrolled in anger management and then probably getting reassigned to duties outside the school. So remember gals, you best behave if this cop stops you for a driving violation.

Holiday Wish Dashed

Do onto others as you'd have them do onto you. Does this make any sense? I guess I asked to much when I wanted a peaceful holiday season.

The shooting came just days after the Nashir Media Foundation, a group identified by experts as being pro-Islamic State, published the last of three messages calling on individual attackers in the West to turn the holiday season into days of “terror and blood.” It urged attacks on clubs, markets and movie theaters.

My Holiday Wish? No Nasty Headlines.

Holidays is the time to put hate and scorn on the sidelines. Come on, we can do it. We can all strive for peace. I mean really just a couple of days without nasty headlines. Give peace a chance. Of course, the man who sang that was murdered.

I am on assignment for the next week. No posts. Lets get together next week. We can discuss me not getting my Holiday wish.

Happy holidays.

When did Assault become Legal?

We've all seen hockey players go at it. You know, beating each other with sticks and what not. How 'bout football. A player, Aqib Talib starts punching another player, Harry Douglas. Beating on someone is usually considered under assault statutes. Correct? In no way is fighting recognized as a part of the game. Boxing is about punching each other silly. I get that. So what gives here. How did assault become legal? Remember when Lenny Bruce commented that he went to a boxing match and a hockey game broke out?

Another Day Another Assassination

Remember, every dog has its day. Every side has its story. Empathy. But really. Shooting an unarmed man in the back. The comment below must be the result of angst.

The religion of peace strikes again!!

Many Thanks Vladimir Putin

Informed citizens safe guard democracy. The founding fathers thought so much of this concept that they insured freedoms of speech and press and blah-blah-blah. You get the picture. So how did the lawyers somehow ditch info under privacy acts? Knowledge is power and we seem to have so little of it. Kennedy's assasination has been stamped  top secret for a hundred years for example. So thanks to Vladimir, info was made available (finally) to the US voting public. And you were wondering why I'm stunned and seething.

Finders-Keepers Losers-Weepers

Let's see here, China found a 150 thousand dollar drone and scooped it out of the sea and sailed away. Now the US is saying something like you'd better give it back you big meanies. I find this sort of thing hysterical. In all honesty though, I thought we (American citizens) were getting more for our federal tax dollars. It wasn't very long ago that the Iranians snatched some US sailors out of the sea and made them apologize for something. Probably for just being silly Americans. At this rate, perhaps we should quit being the policemen of the world and redeploy, on our shores, and take back the inner cities.

I missed Something ...

Ah yes, comments from yesterday involved well thought ideas regarding arson and Community Service. Is Chicago indeed rougher than Detroit? The second comment regarding the n-word? Let's see here, I must be the kinda author who has no need to use it.

Now riddle me this. Since when can't out President (or President Elect) in this case, not speak with people without asking for permission. Free Speech or something like that. I get it, we are a debtor nation to China and they get to call the shots on monetary issues but really. Trump can't chat with Tsai Ing-wen without asking first?

Sticks and Stones may Break my Bones but . . .

I mean really.   Link   So okay, I get it, some are sensitive to the n-word in this land of freedom of speech. Words will never hurt me. Harper Lee nails the hatred and then is banned. Someone is missing the big n-word picture here. What next, a good old fashion book burning.

Aleppo

So the Rebels are on the run. Bashar al-Assad has won. But wait a minute . . . what did he win?

Give me The Truth and Empathy.

Merry Xmas to all and their familes.

On Lincoln & Trump

Now if you please . . . he was a Republican . . . and there is much angst regarding those who's canidate did not win. Lincoln was said to have started asking numerous questions and raise doubts about supposedly established truths.

Isn't that what it's all about? The truth?

Now riddle me this . . . some were very angry that Trump had said he may not accept the results of the election if he did not win. Okay. Now I get the feeling that these very same folks are not accepting the outcome of the election.

Politics is not a football game where we all cheer for a side. We are all cheering for Trump whether you voted for him or not. Enough said?

Odds and Sods.

1) Rumor has it the only reason you are in Colorado is so that you can use Pot to help you write another stupid book on crime doers. I think maybe they are correct because mountain climbing at your age is showing you are trying too hard to be macho man. I check your blog everyday and I see nothing of importance. I refuse to Facebook  so I guess I am missing out on a lot of stuff about your exploits. What? Me being macho and pulling off exploits?

2) I know it is hard writing books, but how about keeping your fans on the edge of their seats.

Shut off your Body Cam, take off your bullet proof vest, put down your favorite traffic writing pen and input some thoughts to this blog or do the right thing and shot it in the head. Hey, I love the tone of this comment.

3) Right On! My hats off to ya for the comment. Many are too frightened to be heard. I don't wear a hat but you get the pciture right? This in response to a comment suporting individuals and their right to protest as in Colin Kaepernick.

4) I do miss Curt's unique ability to create art with his words and enjoy reading his takes on everything. Hopefully he will return soon. For me any type of art, writing or music is exactly like love. You can't force it to happen. It is a conscious choice. It takes work and sometimes alone time. I know Curt will be back at his craft soon or maybe he will start another chapter in his life. One thing is for sure he will keep us wanting more. I miss the wild pictures of his travels as we have been unable to travel due to health reasons. Does it get me down? No because there will be a day when I can travel again. Seattle, San Diego,Denver,San Fransisco, Chicago, NYC and back home to the Great Midwest. Going to be a hell of a road trip. This is what it's really all about. I mean taking a bite out of this apple called life. I'd rather wear out than rust away. I'd love to end up with you at the Whiskey a GO GO. Writing is art Good insight.

5) My guess you will be on a jury because you are a world famous author and they are really stupid to call you for jury duty.

I hope they pick you for some of the drug dudes that ask for a jury trial. I hope they make you the foremen too.

Go get them my friend and be sure to write a book about you experience as a jury foremen.

And no worries about the free book as I will pay for one just like I did for the other 2 books that you still have not signed. Yes I was indeed called for jury duty but was never seated. Oh well.

Seeing is Believing

People who hit up my blog know where I stand on the issue of protestors. The point is, can't we agree to disagree and respect the other ...
