Now Hear This

Curt, many thanks for the excerpt. I loved it. You put effort into the story-line! You could have went the easy route but no, like a true novelist, you took the difficult path. Surprises were the result. New direction for your readers and they are going to appreciate it. Many Thanks - Chuck

Well many thanks to you, Chuck, for taking the time. I know you, as well as all authors are busy souls. I appreciate it. I'd like to also thank RLW Editorial Services for never giving up. Many hours of haggling, but a story was told. . . that had to be told.

Curt Rude Answers Comment from Yesterday

Judgment of others is a dangerous thing. There is a need for judgment or there would be lawlessness, on the other hand judgment of others because they are different is, well, just that... different. What every happened to respect? Respect of others, respect of oneself, respect of life... different times, scary times.

It is upon us to improve The Justice System to insure those who are judged are judged correctly. Nothing worse than a false arrest - coerced confession - wrongful incarceration.

Rings True

Oh how true, ya think?

Stories can conquer fear, you know. They can make the heart bigger.

Five Authors

So I get back to Minnesota and what do I do? Hang out with authors and discuss those ugly 'ly' adverbs and adjectives. On the right is none other than John Haymond who wrote a brilliant work titled 'The Infamous Dakota War Trials of 1862'. Next up is Jeff Ollman who just finished his latest effort, 'The Devils Kettle' along with Judy Bergram who wrote 'Longing to Belong'. Next up is Ricki Walters, who is working on 'Enchanted'.

Praise be for Restorative Justice

When did you start this place. It is right next to Skokie.

A fine gentleman who hails outta Chicagoland asked the question. Man what a place. It's about turning ones back on the Court of Public Opinion and giving folks a second chance. Restorative Justice. Want to know what the Court of Public Opinion is all about? Ask Casey Anthony. A wise man once said "Judge not . . . least thee be judged."

Funny, I also received a photo of 'Curt's Trail' in Arizona on the same day. Curt's must be running all around this great land.

Oh c'mon . . .

I wrote this back in 2014 . . .

March 11, 2014 –

Good for Joe Arpaio for wanting to kick some ass and send the bad guys away to nasty, taxpayer, saving jails. Joe was fighting drugs for 30 years in Turkey, Peru and Mexico but it would seem the fight was lost. I wonder how much that cost the taxpayers. Now we have youngsters who want to get messed up on Ecstasy and dance. Raves. Anyways, I get the feeling Joe would want to send them all to Tent City before he headed home to pound some brandy. I think there is a place for Arpaio, but we have to balance that with some realistic, insightful thinking. Portugal has decriminalized the use of Ecstasy and opened up centers that test the stuff for users. Ecstasy is harmless if it's what its billed to be. In America, we have tough sheriffs fighting the war on drugs and our fellow citizens continue to die. I am not a Molly user but I'm anti-bullshit. All this war on that and toss 'em in jail and throw the key away just gets kinda sickening to me. Lets get real. Lets cut the bullshit. The message here just seems to be too much bullshit. Enough said?

and now in 2017 . . .

Penzone, a veteran of the Phoenix police department who ran as a Democrat, maintains that his victory had less to do with politics — which he insists “has no place in law enforcement” — than it did with voters’ overwhelming fatigue with “America’s toughest sheriff.” Arpaio’s controversial crusade against illegal immigration left the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office in financial disarray, with a backlog of unsolved sex crimes.

I tried to tell Sheriff Joe and that's all we can do is . . . try.

Emerging Truths

The term “deep state,” which is relatively new to American politics, has been used to describe a permanent military, intelligence and law-enforcement bureaucracy manipulating government policies in secret.

Steve King mentioned this as being a problem for Trump so here goes. First we were warned about the 'Military Industrial Complex' by President Eisenhower. Then we get hit with a wave of technological driven accountability, where some of our police officers are being exposed for what they are. Now Snowden and whatnot's are exposing our Intelligence Community as being rather nafarious. You know, I get it, these entities desire more resources, more control and more power. Remember the allegations of Trump in Russia paying girls to urinate where Obama had slept? Then when push came to shove, 'bingo' no proof. Like ol' Ben Franklin said. . . 'Believe none of what you hear, and only half of what you see.'

A Tip for Writers

What tip could you give someone who is just starting to write? Did you always want to write?

Great Question. I'd say you have to stay true to your characters. Now get writing. Hey that's two tips. I guess you could say I lived my first book. I was involved in at all levels of of law enforcement commencing in 1979 to 2008. It was then that I discovered all is not well where the human animal lives, plays and works. Just because ya put a uniform on an individual does not erase any character flaws and what not. So writing JusThis was cathartic to say the least.

Why Alaska?

Can you folks from Alaska let me know what's happening? Tons of hits from that great State but who are you?

Casey Anthony's Innocent - Right?

Lets see here, Casey is charged with murdering her daughter, Caylee. She is found innocent of the crime. So why the booing on the Courthouse steps? Why is she vilified to this day? I mean, do some of you really think the Courts get it wrong at times? How could that be with all the CSI stuff happening now-a-days? Man the Court of Public Opinion is a nasty thing to be sure. Oh and get this, the Judge from the case expressed an opinion that Casey could've accidentally killed the little one.

Terrorists?

You the dog. What do you think needs to be done with the Terrorists?
Reply

We have got to truly understand them. I mean we have to understand what motivates individuals to resort to such self-destructive behavior. Period. Then we can address preventative measures.

Authors Corner

Got to hang with authors John Haymond and Jeffery Ollman. John wrote the Infamous Dakota War Trials of 1862 and Jeff wrote Trust Me Now. Beer, fries and then it was time to review some writing.

Thoughts involving a Comment from Yesterday

Get REAL, or at least make sense!

I don't suppose this is Troy Aikman. is it? I mean EA Sports, it's in the game! Anyway, the whole idea behind my writing and this blog is the truth, nothing but the truth so help me God. There ya go. My first story regarded police and sexual assault. Then it happened. My second story, Brand of Justice, regards false arrest, wrongful prosecution and unjust incarceration. You plugged into the media? Happens all the time. This blog covers the realities of issues and thus is all too REAL!

Gotta Love Micheal Bennett's Resolve

Wow, this man said he wants to be like Muhammed Ali, he wants to be a voice for the voiceless. He wants to experience the plight of the Palestinian. This is what he said this weekend . . . "There is no partial commitment to Justice. You are either in or you're out. Well I'm in." Many thanks Mr Bennett! You are an inspiration.

Women, Clothing and Common Sense?

Okay . . . I get it, we must be non-judgmental. Live and let live. So here goes, on the top we have a gal in them skin tight tights in a Walmart. The two gals in blue are covered from head to foot in a burka. They live in lands of the blazing hot sun. I'm fully aware the tights would be condemned in Muslim countries as shameless. But wouldn't it make sense to wear them things in temperatures above a hundred degrees? Perhaps the burka thing would work in lands with extremely cold temps. You know . . . Siberia, Alaska. Is this mixed up or is it just me?

Seeing is Believing

People who hit up my blog know where I stand on the issue of protestors. The point is, can't we agree to disagree and respect the other ...
